Westhope Presbyterian Church Brings Textile Recycling to Saratoga Community
Westhope Presbyterian Church and Green Education Foundation have partnered to introduce a new Neighborhood Donation Recycling Station (NDRS) in Saratoga, California! This will conveniently allow all members of the Saratoga community to efficiently recycle old clothes, shoes, and many other common household items directly at the NDRS in Westhope Presbyterian Church’s parking lot near El Quito Park. For more information, please read on!
Neighborhood donation recycling stations are a great way to reduce waste and recycle materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. By diverting usable items from landfills, NDRS help to conserve materials and prevent pollution. Furthermore, recycling helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as it takes less energy to recycle materials than it does to produce new materials. By recycling at your local NDRS, you are not only helping to reduce waste, but you are also helping to protect the environment. Green Education Foundation’s closed loop recycling system ensures everything donated gets a second life. Also, come tax season everything donated can be deducted from your taxes, so make sure to get your tax receipt after donating! You can find the full list of NDRS recyclable items as well as your tax receipt form on GEF’s item donation page.
Each year, Green Education Foundation diverts over 50 million pounds of materials from landfills with the goal of eventually reaching 100 million pounds per year! They accomplish this with help from ecofriendly cities, landlords, and contemplative organizations like Westhope Presbyterian Church who place NDRS on their properties in order provide community members a place where they can come and recycle. Green Education Foundation is proud to be taking on these impactful environmental initiatives with Westhope Presbyterian Church! By taking on these initiatives, Westhope is certainly making a positive difference for the environment and setting a conscientious example for other organizations to follow!
